The ongoing military confrontation between the United States and Iran has further escalated tensions across the Middle East. Growing security risks in the Strait of Hormuz, the heightened military readiness of the Gulf states, and Washington’s expanded military presence in the region indicate that the conflict has entered a new phase. Analysts believe that military operations are likely to continue unless the two sides reach a political agreement.
Speaking as a guest on ARB24 Television, political analyst Ahmad Shahidov said that the U.S.-Iran war is producing severe consequences for both sides: “For Iran, this war is turning into a devastating catastrophe. The country’s military infrastructure is suffering serious damage, while its economic situation continues to deteriorate. For the United States, the conflict means spending billions of dollars and already incurring military casualties. That is why Washington is now demanding greater financial support from the Gulf states. Keeping the Strait of Hormuz open is of vital importance прежде всего to the Gulf countries. Therefore, those countries are expected to provide additional investments and financial assistance to the United States.”
Ahmad Shahidov stressed that as long as Iran continues its resistance, the United States will not halt its military operations: “If Tehran does not change its current position, the next stage could involve Washington launching ground operations against Iran with the participation of the armed forces of the Gulf states. At present, Iran is seeking an agreement that it considers acceptable and dignified. However, there is still no suitable political environment for such a settlement. As a result, Iran continues its resistance, while the United States is expanding its military operations and increasing pressure.”
