“The UN’s trust limit has approached zero, and Azerbaijan’s victory is a true miracle against the global backdrop” – Ahmad Shahidov spoke to ARB24 Television

Although the 81st session of the UN General Assembly concluded with memorable moments against the backdrop of global geopolitical polarization, harsh military rhetoric, and deepening conflicts, it once again exposed the international organization’s helplessness in resolving crises. At a time when tensions have peaked in various parts of the world—in the Middle East, Ukraine, as well as in US-Iran relations—the calls made from the UN rostrum yielded no tangible results. On the contrary, the exhaustion of the organization’s global trust limit and the malfunction of international legal mechanisms are causing serious concern in the international community.

Granting an interview to ARB24 Television regarding these issues, political analyst Ahmad Shahidov stated that the 81st session of the UN did not achieve any real results, and instead, this event was marked by a show of strength, muscle-flexing, and harsh military rhetoric. The expert noted that at a stage where the world is further divided and conflicts are increasing, the legitimacy of the UN has now approached zero. Against the backdrop of tensions in US-Iran, Israel-Middle East, Russia-Ukraine, as well as Central and South Asia, there can be no talk of any dialogue, peace, or compromise in the world; rather, conflicts are expected to deepen further in the future.

Emphasizing that Azerbaijan’s historic achievements against the backdrop of all these global crises and the inefficiency of international organizations are a great miracle, political analyst Ahmad Shahidov pointed out that our republic is the country that ended the conflict in the 21st century. Azerbaijan’s restoration of its territorial integrity in 2020, ensuring international justice, and liberating its lands from occupation is a unique example on a global scale. Today, Azerbaijan’s successful continuation of the peace process with Armenia is assessed as a true model of peace and development against the backdrop of chaotic conflicts taking place in the world.
