Ahmad Shahidov comments on Azerbaijan’s foreign policy priorities and relations with global power centers to ARB24 Television

President Ilham Aliyev’s speech at the congress of the New Azerbaijan Party (YAP) once again demonstrated the core priorities and strategic goals of Azerbaijan’s foreign policy on the global stage. These principles emphasized by the head of state reaffirm the unchanging nature of Azerbaijan’s independent, national-interest-driven foreign policy strategy based on mutual respect with global power centers. Without bowing to any external influence, Azerbaijan acts as an active and independent player in the international relations system based on its sovereign rights.

Commenting on this topic in an interview with ARB24 Television, political analyst Ahmad Shahidov stated that President Ilham Aliyev always clearly defines the country’s foreign policy priorities in his speeches. He noted that Azerbaijan achieved victory in the Second Karabakh War single-handedly, relying on its internal capabilities and the will of its people, and that no external force has a share in this historic triumph. It is precisely as a result of this independent victory and strong statehood traditions that no foreign country can interfere in Azerbaijan’s internal affairs, and the nation conducts its foreign policy completely freely.

Continuing his remarks, Ahmad Shahidov emphasized that Azerbaijan’s relations with global power centers represent a unique model of balance in world practice. He noted that maintaining strategic partnerships and balanced relations with global actors such as both the United States of America and the People’s Republic of China is of particular importance against the backdrop of today’s complex geopolitical contradictions. The political analyst added that this visionary foreign policy course and the balance maintained globally serve as the main strategic guarantee ensuring Azerbaijan’s security, stability, and economic sovereignty.
