Ahmad Shahidov talks about double standards of the Europe media at the OSCE Conference on Media Freedom

Office of the OSCE Representative on Freedom of the Media has conducted two days conference on Journalists’ Safety, Media Freedom and Pluralism in Times of Conflict in Vienne, Austria on June 15. The conference that attended by representatives of the OSCE participating countries, human rights advocates and journalists featured of discussions on safety of investigative journalists and freedoms of journalists in times of conflicts, pluralisms and other relevant issues.

Making a speech at the conference Ahmad Shahidov, Head of the Azerbaijani Institute for Democracy and Human Rights (AIDHR)criticized dissemination of one sided information related to Azerbaijan at the European countries, in particular Germany, France and Switzerland. He also noted that these mass media means represent Nagorno Kharabakh as an independent state which once again illustrate double standards of the European countries. By expressing his concern towards some European countries not attending the First European games, he pointed it out that they did this on purpose and in parallel mass media means of these countries pursues boycott based campaign of the games.
